A stock count can sometimes be a very resource-intensive task. We all know about the annual status count, where the need to call in extra staff is necessary. Mobile WMS offers several types of counting options, precisely so that your company can avoid having to limit your counting needs to a few resource-intensive counts per year.
If you still count your stock using pen and paper, there are many financial advantages to automating your stock counting processes instead. Imagine that you first have to register your stock count on a printed stock list from your financial system, and then enter these numbers manually. This action is associated with a high risk of error and requires subsequent checking and accounting.
The need for how often a company needs to conduct counts is, of course, individual. With Mobile WMS, you have the option to conduct counts at your convenience.
Mobile WMS offers both planned and unplanned counts. A planned count is created in your financial system and the count journal is then released on the mobile device, after which the count can take place. When the count is completed on the mobile device, the results are sent back to your financial system. Before the final accounting takes place, you have the opportunity to validate the count result.
The unplanned count, on the other hand, can be carried out without any form of prior planning. The strength of this type of count is that you can quickly adjust the inventory quantity at the time when you discover a possible difference. We call this count an ad-hoc count.
