Superior Fireworks originally relied on an outdated order management system and paper-based processes in the warehouse. Inventory was organized and categorized, but the company was frequently running into issues locating inventory. First-hand knowledge from warehouse employees was relied upon for information like availability and location, making for a difficult process.
Superior knew they needed to look for a WMS solution to provide Inventory Management and a user-friendly interface to keep up with growing demand and seasonal employees, especially during the peak season. Josh Pappas, Communications & Technology Director at Superior, puts it into words:
“We developed some basic organization to sort products by category, but it wasn’t very precise or flexible, and we often ran into problems finding the last case of something that got tucked away somewhere, or we didn’t know a count was wrong until we needed it. It wasn’t efficient, and it certainly wasn’t scalable, even in the smaller warehouse we were in at the time.”
To address these challenges, they sought a solution that would enable quick and easy execution of essential tasks such as "receiving, put-aways, movements, counts, and picks. “Tasklet really stood out to us because of its ease of use and intuitive interface, which was a big contrast from some of the other solutions available,” Pappas says.
