Customer success story | Marburger Lederwaren

Eight Months, Zero Errors

After upgrading their old ERP system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, German-based Marburger Lederwaren needed a mobile warehouse management solution that could support their high-volume, time-sensitive operations. With their previous custom-built mobile system no longer a viable option, Marburger chose to integrate Tasklet Mobile WMS directly with Business Central. The result: a complete, future-proof warehouse set-up that is reliable, scalable, and fully aligned with their operational needs.

Seamless Intregration with Business Central was Top Priority

During the process of upgrading their ERP system, Marburger Lederwaren discovered they needed a brand-new mobile warehouse management suggestion, one that could be linked directly with Business Central without disrupting daily operations or requiring complex custom development.

“From a technical perspective,” Alexander Denninghoff, Head of IT and Logistics at Marburger Lederwaren, explains, “the decisive factor was clearly the direct integration with Business Central. No additional servers, no third-party software.” He elaborates:

“We already had a mobile solution in our previous ERP system — a custom-built one — and we wanted to continue benefiting from its advantages. The alternative would have been manual picking using pen and paper, which simply isn’t feasible with around 100 orders per day, some containing more than 400 line items. "

After consulting with ERP partner anaptis and briefly evaluating the available alternatives on the market, Marburger Lederwaren decided to “run a test with Tasklet” and found that it worked “exceptionally well” with Business Central.

"Since implementation eight months ago, no errors have occurred. [Tasklet Mobile WMS] runs very quickly, directly within Business Central, and is highly reliable."
Alexander Denninghoff, Head of IT and Logistics, Marburger Lederwaren Knetsch GmbH & Co. KG
"The standard functionalities took us a long way. We discussed the necessary adjustments with anaptis in advance to ensure they could be implemented with reasonable effort. Once again, anaptis’ extensive experience proved invaluable."
Alexander Denninghoff, Head of IT and Logistics, Marburger Lederwaren Knetsch GmbH & Co. KG
"The collaboration was very good and straightforward. Strong expertise from the ERP consulting firm is extremely important for a smooth project—that’s where the foundation is laid. We also purchased the hardware through Tasklet. Everything went smoothly there as well."

The Right Partner Made the Decision Easy

Going into the ERP upgrade process, Marburger Lederwaren was introduced to Tasklet Mobile WMS by anaptis as the ideal add-on to Business Central, especially considering their large-scale operations:

“It was clearly a recommendation from our consulting firm, who had already gained positive experience with Tasklet from other projects,” Denninghoff reveals, then specifies:

“We started very quickly with the standard [functionalities, which] took us a long way. We discussed the necessary adjustments with anaptis in advance to ensure they could be implemented with reasonable effort. Once again, anaptis’ extensive experience proved invaluable.”

Full Inventory Control Eliminates Workarounds

In the second phase after go-live, Marburger Lederwaren focused on fine-tuning their mobile WMS to further optimize specific workflows in key areas such as Inventory Adjustments:

“It was important for us to be able to adjust inventory in both directions. The standard functionality only allows for negative adjustments (reducing quantities), so anaptis duplicated this menu item and added functionality for positive adjustments via the item journal. This enables us to increase item inventory without needing to carry out an unplanned movement from another bin,” Denninghoff explains.

Following this adjustment, time spent on workarounds and manual corrections was greatly reduced, while accurate inventory became easier to maintain, demonstrating the flexibility of Tasklet Mobile WMS and how easily it can be adapted to support even highly specific warehousing needs.

Smarter Picking Process with License Plating

One of the most important features in Marburger Lederwaren’s set-up is Multi Order Picking, which has become “extremely valuable, for instance when consolidating 10 web orders with one line each into a single picking process,” Denninghoff explains, and adds: “We use License Plates for this, and it works exceptionally well.”

In combining Multi Order Picking with License Plating, Marburger has experienced a significant reduction in manual handling as well as an elimination of errors:

“Since implementation eight months ago, no errors have occurred. The system runs very quickly, directly within Business Central, and is highly reliable,” Denninghoff concludes.

Improved Efficiency All Around

As a company that supports over 130 locations across Germany and needs to “ship web and Amazon orders very quickly and on the same day,” it is vital that all handling processes are efficient, accurate, and reliable. From initial order registration through picking, packing, and shipping, every step must run smoothly to meet time-sensitive deadlines and maintain customer satisfaction.

Through the implementation of Tasklet Mobile WMS, Marburger Lederwaren has experienced significant improvements across the board. Standard features alone have streamlined core workflows and reduced manual handling, while custom adjustments have further optimized specific inventory processes to support stock accuracy.

Beyond operational improvements, Marburger Lederwaren has experienced a smooth and straightforward collaboration with anaptis and Tasklet Factory. When asked whether he would recommend Tasklet Mobile WMS to other Business Central users, Dennighoff’s answer is clear:

“Absolutely.”
