Mobile WMS ensures full production tracking at Malte Haaning Plastic A/S
User-friendly and customizable
It was important for Malte Haaning Plastic that the solution was user friendly as their production workers were not used to work with IT. The application for the hand held scanner terminals should present the necessary information in a way that was relevant and easy-to-understand, and at the same time assist the employees with their work processes. It was therefore decisive that Mobile WMS could be configured so to match the production routines exactly, Birgitte Gregersen explains: The application has been well received by the production workers, as it is made to fit the procedures they already followed, and now the hand held scanners actually helps them in their daily routines”.
Higher quality – less walks
Apart from production traceability, Mobile WMS also meant a step up in production quality and consistency. As everything is scanned during production, the end user can be confident to receive exactly the right prod-uct. Of course the scanning procedures are adding steps to the work processes, but the extra work is more than compensated by the use of Mobile WMS. When working with the hand held terminals, production work-ers always have easy access to information in Dynamics NAV. This saves them the long walks back and forth between the stationary PC’s and printers in the production facility. Problems and breakdowns with the sys-tem are non-existent, and whatever fears some might have had of a slow and tedious system proved to be wrong, Birgitte Gregersen explains: “Posting and reporting of finished production runs works perfect and are executed immediately”.
“Mobile WMS is very user friendly which means that even workers who are not used to work with IT have no problems using the handheld terminals”
